The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests — a triple-eaved blue-tiled rotunda built entirely without nails — anchors a vast park where emperors prayed for harvests. The marvel is the acoustics: whisper at the Echo Wall and a friend hears it across the courtyard. Come at dawn when retirees fill the corridors with tai chi, fan dancing, erhu and card games; that morning ritual is the real show.

  • Closed Mondays. The park is open daily; the inner ticketed monuments (Hall of Prayer, etc.) close Mondays (except public holidays).
  • Book ahead. Buy the combined through-ticket (gate-only does NOT include the halls); mandatory digital/real-name system since 2024 - passport required.
  • Best time — early morning — 06:00-09:00 the park fills with locals doing tai chi, dancing, calligraphy - the 'living park' scene is the highlight, b
